Cinquemila anni di solitudine ?

Six scholars took part in the debate and thinking at the core of the volume Storia mondiale d’Italia that is here presented. Their fields of specialism and research foci in history are different. Two medievalists (Sofia Boesch Gajano and E. Igor Mineo), two experts in Modern History (Vittorio H. Beonio Brocchieri e Angelo Torre), as well as two experts in Contemporary History (Fulvio Cammarano e Marcello Flores) have been involved. There was no limit or any kind of prefigured constraint on their thought. Therefore, some of them felt free to analyse single aspects and issues of the volume; someone examined the editorial and scientific project of the volume as a whole; someone took the opportunity to develop a wider historiographical debate.

Alla riflessione attorno al volume Storia mondiale dell’Italia, che qui si presenta, hanno preso parte sei autori diversi per provenienza e sensibilità: due medievisti (Sofia Boesch Gajano e E. Igor Mineo), due modernisti (Vittorio H. Beonio Brocchieri e Angelo Torre), due contemporaneisti (Marcello Flores e Fulvio Cammarano). Ciascuno dei partecipanti ha potuto ragionare del volume senza vincoli di alcun tipo. C’è chi si è soffermato su singole voci e singoli aspetti del volume, chi ha preso in esame il progetto editoriale e scientifico, chi ha colto l’occasione per sviluppare una più ampia discussione storiografica.
