Abstract
The culture of the people of the north-eastern mountains of Albania where the Kanun, ancient customary law, is still in force, despite the attempts of the communist regime to repress it. The studied carried out by E. C. Del Re in the remote region of Nikaj-Merturi, with F. Gustincich photographing, constitutes a unique documentation because such reality has today disappeared and at the time of the study was virtually unexplored. E. C. Del Re was the first to present it to the world. The exhibition held in Tirana in 1003 was the object of lively debates because for the first time a western approach was shown in a country which had been isolated for more than forty years.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
