Among the issues in the field of the drawing, the question of a conscious and effective digital approach goes through different considerations and cannot be approached in a homogeneous way internationally. In fact, on the one hand, considerations on the role of drawing in its primordial meaning, i.e. an essential form of communication and transmission of knowledge, ideas and emotions, are shared by every culture; on the other hand, however, it must be taken into account that a complete conversion to digital for the so-called AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) sector must be confronted with a fully aware cultural context, as both the ‘level of maturity’ with respect to digital conversion and the reference regulatory system are still variable on the international scene. The meaning of this expression, beyond the well-known one proposed by Bew and Richards [1], should today correspond to the attainment of a full and clear awareness in the use of digital graphics and data management, of great importance for training and scientific research but also for professional activities where unambiguous codes are required for understanding information. A full and unconditional recourse to digitisation in the AEC sector, which is useful with a view to greater knowledge and ability to manage the built heritage and cultural assets, requires new insights in the direction of information exchange, not only from a technical and management point of view but also for the ethical and semantic aspects, which are also involved in this transition process
Tra le discussioni nell’ambito del disegno, la questione di un approccio digitale consapevole ed efficace passa attraverso diverse considerazioni e, difficilmente, può essere affrontata in maniera omogenea a livello internazionale. Se, per un verso, le considerazioni sul ruolo del disegno nel suo significato primigenio, cioè forma essenziale di comunicazione e trasmissione del sapere, delle idee e delle emozioni, sono condivise da ogni cultura, dall’altro la completa adesione ad una gestione digitale per la cosiddetta industria AEC (Architettura, Ingegneria e Costruzioni) deve confrontarsi con un contesto culturale pienamente consapevole, essendo oggi ancora variabile sulla scena internazionale sia il ’livello di maturità’ rispetto alla conversione digitale che il sistema normativo di riferimento. Il significato di questa espressione, oltre quello noto proposto da Bew e Richards [1], dovrebbe oggi corrispondere al raggiungimento di una piena e chiara consapevolezza nell’utilizzazione della grafica digitale e gestione dei dati, di grande importanza per la formazione e la ricerca scientifica ma, anche, per le attività professionali dove sono necessari codici univoci per la comprensione delle informazioni. Un totale e incondizionato ricorso alla digitalizzazione in ambito AEC, utile nell’ottica di una maggiore conoscenza e capacità di gestione del patrimonio costruito e beni culturali, impone nuovi approfondimenti nella direzione dello scambio di informazioni, non solo dal punto di vista tecnico e gestionale ma, anche, per gli aspetti etici e semantici, anch’essi intervenenti in questo processo di transizione.
